This sensational spruce is native to Western China. Its compact pyramidal shape, has short dark green needles with pale undersides leading to a bi-color look. The needles are pressed close to the light colored stems and in the spring will produce purple violet cones. Formerly Picea Likiagensis var. purpurea this spruce was introduced by E. H. Wilson in 1910. Use this spruce as a focal point, or vertical accent. - Zone: 4
